Well, the jig is up. If her House mates had any doubts about Sadde, they're gone.

...kinda. She's still young enough and androgynous enough that most of them think it's just a matter of changing her hair a bit and maybe some makeup and differently cut robes. It's not a belief that stands a whole lot of scrutiny, but given that most Slytherins give her a fairly wide berth, there's not actually been a whole lot of scrutiny.

She did find the Hufflepuff boy she spooked and tell him about it and offer to help him with his Potions homework. He was quite bewildered and suspicious because Slytherin so he didn't accept her help, but she told him to watch who she hangs out with so that he'd see she's Not Like Other Slytherins, and eventually he agreed, unable to see any way this could be a cunning plot. Which just goes to show that some people really couldn't be Slytherins.

Presently, it's Sunday, and Sadde would really like to talk to a certain Hat, which means she needs to talk to a certain Headmistress, and she suspects the most likely place she'll find her is the Head Table, at one of the meals. Breakfast is the first of those! Is McGonagall there?

I know where to find one, but I'm afraid you don't quite meet the requirements to use it yet.

What? What is it?

The Sword of Gryffindor.

[chanuphis]

'Yet'? I'm not a Gryffindor and wouldn't be even if I'd let you place me, you think I could meet its requirements later?

[peterxy]

It is not impossible. The Sword presents itself to those who need it and who deserve to wield it. House affiliation has little to do with deserving it; bravery and chivalry in the face of injustice and evil, especially to help others, are closer to what it looks for.

Huh. I'll bear that in mind.

[peterxy]

I hope you never find yourself in need of it.

[chanuphis]

Yeah, sounds like if I'm in a situation like that I've probably already gone wrong somewhere.

[peterxy]

Unless you become a markedly different person in the next few years, yes.

[chanuphis]

Miranda giggles. Anything else I should know?

[peterxy]

Nothing I can think of.

[chanuphis]

"Thank you, Professor," says Miranda, and she takes the hat off and replaces it on the shelf.

"It was no trouble, Miss Swan."

[mswoods]

"What'd you talk about?" she asks immediately.

[chanuphis]

"It doesn't know where I can get ahold of any other artifacts besides itself or have a lot of advice that I don't already know."

[mswoods]

"I'm drawing conclusions about your goals based on that!" she says, grinning.

[chanuphis]

"If you can figure them out from the fact that some kind of artifact that might or might not exist would be useful if I found it you deserve to know."

[mswoods]

"I said I was drawing conclusions, not that I got you figured out. You remain a mystery to me, just slightly less mysterious."

[chanuphis]

"That's fine. Thanks, Professor," Miranda says again, and she departs the Headmistress's office.

It's Monday!

Sadde has detention with Professor Slughorn during her free period. Where will she meet him?

In the Potions dungeon, where she will be organizing the ingredients cupboard and scrubbing out cauldrons.

She's certain she can make this fun somehow! "Hello, Professor!"

"Right on time, Miss Woods." Slughorn points her at the work and gets to grading essays.

She starts doing stuff.

"So, did Professor McGonagall tell you about my project?"
