Time elapses. Rewind is allowed to leave her prison- er, hospital room. She needs to go around on a wheelchair, and it'll still take at least a month for her bones to mend completely, and she needs help to move around and do stuff. But she definitely won't complain about being able to eat real food more often (she is very thankful for the bot bringing her takeout), and she can keep riding along with paramedics even when she can't really move around a lot.

And one of these days, while she's in an ambulance, something lands on it, rocking the vehicle and startling her from her thoughts. The ambulance stops, and whatever it is makes noises as if it's moving and then jumps off it. Rewind twists to see through the window, and-

"Console, a really weird leafy monkey just jumped on the ambulance and then off it," she says into her comm.

"Ooh," she repeats, picking up the string of sodalite cushions with dangling silvery tubes between them. "This is gorgeous!"

[mrglam]

"Ee! I'm glad you like it."

[thinkering]

She takes her left glove off to put the bracelet on, although it is immediately hidden by the reinstatement of the glove.

[mrglam]

He giggles. "Aww, so you won't show it off to everyone else?"

[thinkering]

"I might wear it at school and not say where I got it," she suggests. "I don't want to wear it outside my armor, occasionally it turns out to be relevant that I'm wearing armor."

[mrglam]

"I know, I'm joking. I'm happy you're wearing it."

[thinkering]

"Good. Thank you."

[mrglam]

"I love you. And by the way, your dad invited me to cake."

[thinkering]

"Good."

[mrglam]

"I aaaaalso think there should be birthday kisses..."

Well. Kisses is not exactly what's on his mind, but.

[thinkering]

"Birthday kisses, huh. Those don't require a closed door or anything! I am sure you will receive kisses."

[mrglam]

"...you're making that face, aren't you."

[thinkering]

"Yes. Yes I am."

[mrglam]

"Ngh! Well, maybe I didn't exactly mean kisses."

[thinkering]

"Maybe?"

[mrglam]

"I definitely didn't exactly mean kisses!"

[thinkering]

"We will also have plenty of opportunities to snuggle. And play board games."

[mrglam]

"I didn't mean those things either."

[thinkering]

"Well, gosh, I'm at a complete loss."

[mrglam]

"You're evil, is what you are."

[thinkering]

"How dare you, I'm a registered superhero and that means I am good through and through, not to mention appealing to the public and highly marketable."

[mrglam]

"Liar, liar, pants on fire!"

[thinkering]

Raspberry noise.

"Sssooooo, then you don't want birthday kisses and birthday kiss-related activities?"

"I don't see how you could possibly have concluded such a thing. I just also want to be evil."
